Facebook Newsroom: Meta’s first WordPress site and a platform it continues to invest in today

The shipped Newsroom in motion: a screen capture recorded in 2017, three years after launch, still running the theme I built in 2014.

The Japanese edition of newsroom.fb.com at ja.newsroom.fb.com: a "newsroom" logo, a fully Japanese navigation bar, a large featured story about Instagram, a latest-news column, and a press contact block, all localized into Japanese.

The Japanese edition at ja.newsroom.fb.com, one of seven language subdomains built on the same theme. Captured in 2017; still the template I shipped in 2014.

The Our History timeline on a phone screen: a central event card showing Facebook’s Aquila solar drone in flight, dated July 21, 2016, with partial neighboring cards on either side, above a draggable scrubber marked 2004, 2007, 2010, 2013, and 2016.

The Our History timeline on a phone: swipe the cards or drag the year scrubber to move through Facebook’s history, the same interaction on a phone as on a desktop. Captured in 2017, three years after launch, still running the theme I built in 2014.
